I wanted to make this more than just what type of ad campaigns you should run on Facebook…

So?

I wrote a letter to Facebook Business about my experience, and here it is:

Dear Facebook for Business,

First, thank you for existing, But I have some grievance and real concerns.

I have spent thousands of dollars advertising with your company to run “page like” campaigns, and you have restricted my reach on the page to the people that followed based on your advertising guidelines.

Perhaps for some online who try to look popular, that’s great, but I’m not one of those people.

I am an authentic creator and have been on Facebook since the beginning.

Your limitations have driven me and other creators and brands to other platforms.

So, my honest feedback is to stop ripping people off and give them what they pay for.

I have spent over a million dollars in advertising in the past 16 months, and 97% were not with FB or IG for these specific reasons.

The recommendation for everyone who might see this post, I’m assuming no one other then Facebook business staff (sarcasm), is:

DO NOT WASTE your money on

  • engagement
  • page likes
  • or anything FB calls “awareness” unless you’re a fortune 500 or it’s part of a very specific campaign strategy.

For us, small business owners who have been muted, abused, hurt, and ripped off by Facebook’s suggestions, you need to pay close attention.

The only two types of campaigns you should be running is TRAFFIC or CONVERSIONS.

Then for the retargeting run, reach for anchor drops.

You do not need content, a built page, or even an audience despite famous “Guru” recommendations.

Don’t waste your money as I did.

Run ads that bring ROA’s.

Hope this helps,
Sal Peer
