Who has written or in the middle of writing their book?
I wrote this book in 2 weeks. It was hard. I sat in front of the computer and just brain dumped and researched. It took roughly 8-10 hours a day with no interruption and a 2-hour break a day.
Here are my 7 tips to getting your book written fast.
1. Set specific writing times. The time management aspect of it is usually what pays off biggest. Do nothing else put pen to paper. Or finger to keyboard.
2. Eliminate distractions. It’s so easy to get distracted by phone, friends, and family but in order to make something great, you need a little sacrifice. Let your friends and family know to not disturb you. Mute your phone and don’t get stuck on things that are not pertaining yo your writing.
3. Outline. The first step is to outline your book with bullet points. If its knowledge you already have it will be easy to write on the subject. If it’s new information do not research prior to getting to the bullet point. Once you hit that point research and write.
4. Take a break every 4 hours. It’s a proven fact your only producing high productivity for around 4 hours do push yourself for more. Break for at least an hour during sessions. Alternatively, you can write one bullet point from your outline at a time.
5. If you get writer block on a specific section. Stop what you’re doing. Watch some youtube videos on the subject or research for a while. I promise your creative juices will start to flow again.
6. Once your done writing it all send it out to editing. Fiverr, freelancer, Rolodex, friends family wherever. Have someone go over it.
7. Once the work comes back from editing. Edit it. Ready entire book over again and add what’s needed. Try to use examples in where you can from your own life. Register isbn and get it published.
It does take a bit of work but work that keeps paying year in and year out is what I call smart work.
To your success.
